Over 12,000 people barred the cold for Homecoming in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, making it the most attended football game in the stadium’s history. While the Seawolves started strong, scoring 14 in the first two quarters, Towson made a strong comeback and won 21-14. But at least it proved to be a good night for Valli Lakshmanan and Ruchi Shah, who were crowned homecoming king and queen. Photographed for the Stony Brook Independent.

At the Field of Dreams in Massapequa, a community once again came together to raise money for their veterans by doing what they love: playing lacrosse. Between fundraising and donations, almost $113,000 went to organizations for wounded veterans. Shootout for Soldiers began in 2012 in Maryland and has since expanded to several venues. Photographed for the Massapequa Post.

Thousands of students were submerged in a sea of red caps on Friday, May 22 in the heart of LaValle Stadium. Surrounded by family, friends and other loved ones, the graduates waved, stood on chairs and made phone calls to be noticed. Photographed for the Stony Brook Independent. Supplemental photo coverage featuring some of the best designed caps can be found here.

2014 New York State Renaissance Faire

Aquaholics: SBU's Little Water World

It was quite the splash in front of Student Activities Center. The spectacle, appropriately named “Aquaholics 2015,” brought dozens to booming music, water slides, volleyball and a healthy supply of snacks. Between racing down the slides and shooting each other with water guns, nobody emerged dry. Photographed for the Stony Brook Independent with a D3100.

Another Colorful Costume

With colorful costumes, acting and scenery, this trip upstate to The New York State Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo, N.Y, is quite the medieval escape. Thousands flood the area every summer. This photo essay, done for my introductory multimedia class, will take you there.
